Rouleur Derby Report No. 72

Friday, April 12, 2013

In this Rouleur Derby Report:

1. Paris-Roubaix

2. The Ardennes

Wow, what a race! We haven't had such a dramatic finish to a Monument in quite awhile. Sep Vanmarcke has been a favorite of Rouleur Derby's since 2010's Gent-Wevelgem, so although he didn't win, it was great to see him come so close and with such great passion.

Fabian Cancellara was an overwhelming favorite (8/5), his win still earned a lot of points for players who went heavy, including Sportifplus, who bet 1,000 points to profit 1,600. The big winners, however, were anyone who peggd Vanmarcke to get on the podium at 70/1 odds, including Shootthegap, whose 20 points turned into a 1,400-point profit.

Sunday's Amstel Gold Race kicks off the three Ardennes Classics. These will be the final races of the Spring Classics contest, which is a tight race at the moment, with a half-dozen players within reach of the $50 prize.

In addition to picking Sunday's winner, you're invited to predict how many of the three races Andy Schleck will finish. (He must start all three or bets will be scratched and refunded.)

Have fun, play well, tell a friend,
