Rouleur Derby Report No. 55

Friday, March 30, 2012

In this Rouleur Derby Report:

1. Flanders

2. On to Roubaix

Surely none of you needs reminding that Sunday kicks off the High Holy Week of bike racing with the Tour of Flanders.

Action has been heavy, with more than 2/3 of the points going toward Tom Boonen or Fabian Cancellara. The day may turn, however, on how well players hedge their bets with the dark horses, including the prolific but fickle "Other."

Remember, this is our second Monument, meaning winning bets in the "win" proposition get a 25 percent bonus, so it will pay to cover your bases. This also marks the halfway point in our Spring Classics competition, currently led by rwc19 with a 190 percent return on investment.

The Oude Kwaremont looks to figure prominently in this year's edition, so this week's novelty proposition is, "How many riders will be in the lead group at the start of the final ascent of Oude Kwaremont?" Some discretion may be involved in calling this, so I will be staying out of the betting.

Find all the propositions at http://www.rouleurderby.com

And of course we quickly move to France for next week's Paris-Roubaix. I will set up propositions early in the week. In the meantime, you can have some fun with, "How many other riders will be on the Roubaix velodrome at the moment the winner finishes?"

Have fun, play well, tell a friend,
