********************************************

1. MILAN-SAN REMO WRAP-UP

This may not have been the most exciting Monument, but with an unlikely winner -- and thus a win for that wily and prolific rider known as "Other" -- Saturday's Milan-San Remo shook up Rouleur Derby nonetheless. MISSMINSX had one of the biggest days in Rouleur Derby history. Her 100 points on "Other" to win (20-1) and 50 points on Vincenzo Nibali to show (18-1) netted her more than 2,000 points for the day -- plus a 500-point bonus for picking the winner -- and put her squarely in first place.

Your current standings:
1. 4,695 MISSMINSK
2. 3,640 Brandon
3. 3,380 kalbers
4. 2,214 BarTapeandBidons
5. 2,047 rwc19

But it's early. This is like the Cubs having a 4-run lead in the first inning. There are a million ways to blow it.

Brandon and MISSMINSK also lead in the Spring Classics contest, for which there is a $75 prize. However, there are a number of players out there who may have higher returns on investment but who have not yet made the minimum wagers to show up in the standings. With one Monument down and three to go in this contest, this is no time to be posting up.

2. ABOUT THAT POGGIO PROPOSITION

I made an unfortunate error when setting up the "Who will first crest the Poggio?" proposition.

On Thursday a player pointed out that I had neglected to include RadioShack-Nissan as an option. To rectify, I did three things: 1. Added it as an option; 2. Placed a 50-point bet out of my own balance to give it a reasonable payout; 3. Attempted to spread the word on Twitter.

However, I'm certain that more people would have bet on RSNT had it been an option from the beginning, so the payout was artificially high, finally settling at 28-1.

None of this would have been a problem had RSNT not won, but Fabian Cancellara had to go and ruin things and go sur la plaque first.

This put me in a delicate position: Because of my 50-point seed bet and because of the high payout, I had just "won" 1,400 points.

Which didn't feel right. Rouleur Derby hinges on trust and transparency. So to avoid the appearance of any impropriety, I've forfeited the 1,350 points I profited from this proposition. (The handful of other players who bet on RSNT will keep their points.)

In the future, please don't hesitate to alert me via e-mail if an option is missing. (The exception is propositions that have an "Other" option. Any missing outcomes fall under that and cannot later be added.)

3. UP NEXT

It's hard to believe, but we're only two weeks from the Tour of Flanders. This will be another big deal. Once more start lists are announced, expect several fun side bets as well as "win" and "show" propositions.

In the meantime, there are two prop bets available:

Will a Belgian win?
And will Boonen beat Cancellara?

There's also action on Sunday's classic, Gent-Wevelgem. For this, pick a winner by team.

Have fun, play well, tell a friend,
