In this Rouleur Derby Report:

1. Belgian opening weekend

2. Up next

3. Prize update

********************************************

1. BELGIAN OPENING WEEKEND

They are not the biggest nor the prestigious races, but this weekend's Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne may be among the most significant, for they mark the return of road racing to Belgian soil, where it is intended.

They also mark the start of the Rouleur Derby Spring Classics contest. Points won this weekend will count toward the $75 Spring Classics prize. Remember, these contests are scored by percentage gain, not raw points, and we'll be counting all major one-day races through Liège-Bastogne-Liège.

Which team will win Saturday?

And which rider will win Sunday?

For anyone looking for an extra fix, I recommend Podium Cafe's FSA Directeur Sportif, almost certainly the worlds best fantasy cycling game that is not Rouleur Derby. That's a seasonlong game, so once you submit your team, your work is done. The deadline is tonight. Check it out at http://www.podiumcafevds.com

2. UP NEXT

By midweek I will create propositions for next weekend's races: Our next classic, Montepaschi Strade Bianche, takes place Saturday, and Sunday kicks off our first major stage race, Paris-Nice.

3. PRIZE UPDATE

Our clever friends at Stomach of Anger (http://www.stomachofanger.com) kicked in a generous contribution to the prize pool, both the Spring Classics and Tour de France prizes are now up to $75, and we're up to $285 for the overall winner, the player with the most points after the world championships.

Have fun, play well, tell a friend,

Luke
