In this Rouleur Derby Report:
1. World championships
1. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
It's hard to believe that it's been seven long months since we were all brushing up on our pronunciation of "Nieuwsblad" and "Wevelgem," but here we are: It's late September and the week of the world championships, which also marks the end of another great season of Rouleur Derby.
The main proposition for Sunday's elite race is now available at http://rouleurderby.com/race/2011-world-championship-copenhagen/ . Keep in mind that picking the winner for this race carries a 25 percent bonus (except in the event that "Other" wins).
Some side bets are available, too, including picking the winner of the women's race. Note also that there's a prop bet to pick how many podiums Evelyn Stevens will step up this week, but it has a deadline of tonight, since her time trial is tomorrow.
Three other side bets for the men's race: Will it finish in a bunch sprint? Will an American place in the top 10? And between Mark Cavendish and Philippe Gilbert, who will place higher?
Players who place at least 10 bets on the world championship propositions will be eligible for a $25 prize to the player with the highest return.
And remember, on Sunday we will declare a final winner for this season, which earns a $50 prize. (Assuming the minimum 20 bets have been made.) There's no prize for 2nd place, so it's prime time for Hail Marys, late-race fliers and any other acts of desperation you can muster.
Have fun, play well, tell a friend,
