About these payouts

The "payout" is the latest calculation of how many points a player will earn for a winning bet. If a player bets 100 points on a winning outcome with a 5-1 payout, 500 points will be deposited in that player's account.

Payouts are designed to reflect the chances an outcome has of happening. If an outcome has a 5-1 payout, Rouleur Derby's players have judged it to have a 1-in-5 chance of happening.

Because Rouleur Derby is a parimutuel, payouts are always changing. As more points are bet on a given outcome, its payout will shrink. Points are paid out based on the payout at the time that betting closes, not the payout at the moment a bet was made.

The morning line

Payouts are extremely volatile during early betting. With this in mind, the house sets a "morning line" for each option. This morning line acts as the payout until a minimum number of points have been bet.

Once a proposition goes dynamic, the morning line continues to be displayed for any outcomes that have not yet received any bets.

The morning line is displayed in grey with an asterisk.

Theoretical payouts

All bets have the potential to affect payouts, sometimes drastically. To help a player anticipate these changes, the payouts will update to show how any proposed bet will affect them.

Important note: Players must still click the "Place bet" button for a bet to be registered.

Until the bet has been registered, the theoretical payouts are blue and italicized.
